The Alientech Kess v2, ktag, the new Kess V3, Dimport, Autotuner and kess v2/ktag clone which one is the best? Should you update?

Genuine Alientech Kess V3 vs Genuine Kess V2/Ktag


We'll take a look at them and then you'll decide.


kess v2 has been seen as the must-have tuning tool for the last 10 years.

A big staple of the tuner tool library and in fact ktag also has it for those looking to do bank and boot tuning, so this new tool really needs to fulfill a few things. What are the differences, so what does it bring makes kess v3 much better than kess v2?

The most obvious difference is that these two tools ktag and kess v2 are now merged into a single tool. Kess v3 allows you to make bank, boot and obd adjustments all in one device.

Huge savings on hardware and, of course, subscription licenses. You no longer need to license two tools, it's just one.

Kess v3 offers faster ecu remapping and tuning. kess v3 has one of the fastest processors in the industry at its heart, creating faster checksum calculations. The processing power of ks3 is much faster than kess v2.

In fact, it has been proven to be at least 7 times faster than its predecessor.

There is also no need for as many wires as kess v3, although it has fewer unique wires than kess v2. These wires work harder connecting to as many if not more ECU's than kessv2 and for bank tuning and booting

Tailored protocol configuration Unlike Kess V2 and K-Tag, there are now more protocol options and software activations with Kess3. Motorcycles have now been separated from cars. So you don't have to buy bikes if you don't want them. And for Boot/Bench adjustment you can now choose activation by vehicle type. That is Cars / Trucks, Seafarers etc. Unlike K-Tag which was split by ECU type. This now makes it much easier to understand, select and pay only for the vehicles you are interested in tuning.

The new Kess3 runs on all new software. No longer using K-Suite. The new software is simply called Alientech Suite. It's much faster to use and much easier to navigate. Making the entire tuning process surprisingly quick and easy

Kess V3 vs Autotuner


Both being the market leaders across Europe and some say the world.

both have something to offer, but who knows which one you should have?

We'll find out all the pros and cons of both tools and then help you make a decision.


Kess v2 has been a market leader for some time and with age, some experience and deep knowledge. The longest list of apps of any tool on the market and not just the newest ones, the list of apps dates back to 1999. So a tool like this will let you tune not only modern cars but older ones as well. Kess v3 also has a processor that is said to be 7 times faster than its predecessor and arguably one of the fastest of any tuning tool on the market. but perhaps the most important factor is the support offered by alien technology.

The auto tuner definitely seen as one of the new kids on the block, only released in 2019, it became very popular with tuners around the world initially, at least because of its ability to access some bmw and mercedes via obd tuning, a feature not available on many other devices.

Autotuner also has no annual license fees, reducing running costs for you, and just like kess v3, it is an all-in-one tuning tool, offering boot bank and obd on the same device, lowering your execution.

The auto tuner is also fast, very fast and as we know time is money so as one of the fastest tuning tools on the market the auto tuner can help you get more customers which means more money on your pocket. Is there a winner between kess v3 and auto tuner?

Autotuner is fast, very fast and there is no annual license, although some masters say that the API load doesn't really work for them. kess v3 has great coverage and a great support network, but you have this annual charge, although there is no API charge.

Many tuners would say the massive amount of coverage and large support network more than make up for that annual license fee actually.


It's all a matter of preference, but most professional tuners will have access to more than one tuning tool to give you the greatest chance of tuning any vehicle you come across, no tool is comprehensive, so having access to more than one gives you the best chance of tuning whatever vehicle is in front of you.



Part III:


Kess V3 vs Dimsport


The dimsport trasdata remapping tool is the device used for bank/boot tuning. This can be service mode or boot mode directly tuning to the ECU. Dimsport connection is simplified using additional probes and adapters. Both are good reliable and stable tuning tools. The coverage and use of the tool was very similar. Master tuners tend to like the fact that Alientech tools read an open file. This in turn means that the tuner can use whatever remapping/editing software they want.


On the other hand, dimsport master tools for many years could only be used with Race2000 software tuning software. Therefore, the choice was very limited and even the type of tuning files that could be written was restricted.


The Dimsport tuning toolset is still excellent, but with the new kess v3, the car is now set to a whole new level. The kess 3 speed and also that is OBD and boot tuning in one tool, which means just a signature package is simply revolutionary.
