The automotive scanner is a device that receives and drives, in real time, all the vehicle's electronic injection operating parameters, with the function of detecting eventual failures in the system. This one has specific software that establishes the connection between the device and the systems contained in the vehicle. Thus, with access to information and failure history, the professional is able to know if the vehicle's sensors are working within the parameters specified by the manufacturer. The information is displayed on a display, where the professional who is using the device can coordinate failure tests, actuator/sensor tests and assemble new injection and ignition advance strategies for an effective correction of the system, avoiding unnecessary expenses.
OBD CONNECTOR
The acronym OBD stands for “On-boarding-diagnostics” which means on-board diagnostics. In order to have more accurate information on vehicle operation, such as fuel consumption, performance, emission of pollutants, among others, in 1996 in the USA it was implemented that every car should have OBD. In Brazil, in 2010, this became law for all cars manufactured from that year onwards.
4 Reasons to make a diagnosis in the car: (source: https://blog.mixauto.com.br)
Sometimes, when a dashboard light comes on, it can mean a minor problem, but it can also mean a big problem. Let's see now 4 reasons to diagnose your car.
Car Lifetime – When a problem is resolved quickly and efficiently, we prevent that problem from proliferating throughout the car. Therefore, we prevent the useful life of parts that are in good condition from being harmed by damaged parts.
The faster you identify the problem, the less damage will be – If the injection light comes on, it's a sign that something bad is coming. The sooner the Scanner defect is diagnosed and resolved, the less damage will be to the vehicle, if the vehicle has suffered from the defect.
Diagnostics dramatically reduces maintenance time – By running the car through the Scanner and identifying the problem in advance, you can avoid unnecessary work/time looking for the defect in the vehicle.
Reduced maintenance cost – By identifying the defect, you are able to replace only the parts that are defective, without the need to replace additional parts that are in good condition, which reduces the maintenance cost as well. Your pocket will thank you.
